The Enclavix™ Media Server Connects
Networked Consumers and Digital Content
|
|
According to the
Yankee Group, "….although consumers are flocking toward
Internet technologies and content, few have found a way to manage
and consume this content at home." Consumers
want cost effective, standards-based, easy to use solutions for storing, organizing and enjoying their digital media.
Enclavix offers the latest in OEM
media server software for the networked
home.

Networked Media is the "killer app" for home
networking
The research firm, the
Yankee Group, has found that
the emergence of connected media adapters or
media nodes, is “…the killer app home networking
stakeholders have been waiting for to drive use
of home networks.”
Digital content
in the home is exploding. More than 1/3 of U.S. households have libraries of
audio and images in their homes, 1/2 of Internet households are
downloading music, and 7 million households have libraries of feature
length Internet movies. A 2003 report from
Forrester Research predicts that, within 5 years, 33% of music sales
will come from downloads, as proliferating on-demand media overtakes
piracy, while various forms of video
on-demand will gross $4.2 billion.

Consumers are Picking their Digital
Platform
At the Yankee Group’s 2003
Connected Consumer Summit, Yankee’s lead analysts highlighted the
battle between CE and networking vendors for ownership of the digital
media hub. “Right now, consumers are choosing their preferred platform.
Device manufacturers must rush to capture the attention of the digital
consumer or risk losing their business forever to “the other side” of the
home". The time is now for vendors to deliver compelling, easy
to use server based solutions to help consumers manage and consume their
digital content. Enclavix can help!
